Reservation Policies

Philosophy
Our goal is to share Doe Bay, one of the most incredible places in the world, with you, our guests. Doe Bay Resort & Retreat has a long history with generations of guests. We have invested our time, resources and hearts in making it clean, safe, efficient and hospitable.

Reservations
A deposit of the first night's stay is required in order to make a confirmed reservation. You may cancel your reservation with 14 days notice for a refund of your deposit, less a $50 handling fee per space reserved. If less than 14 days notice is given, we will retain the entire deposit. We reserve the right to substitute a reserved space for another space in the same or better price category.

Minimum Stay
We require a minimum two-night stay to make advance reservations and to receive online booking pricing. One night stays can be made depending on availability by calling us at 360-376-2291. Three or four-night minimums may be required at peak occupancy times or during specific events, such as Doe Bay Fest. Please contact office@doebay.com if you have any questions.

Extra Guests
Prices are based on double occupancy. Extra guests are $20 per person per night. Children age 12 and younger stay free. Remember all registered guests may use the Spa for free.

Pet Policy
We understand how difficult it sometimes is to leave pets at home when you travel. We also know that pets can be hard on the property and may bother other guests. We allow pets in campsites, yurts, domes, and a limited number of cabins, primarily in the Upper Field area surrounding Homestead Road.

There is a $20/night pet fee each visit for cabins and a $20/stay pet fee each visit for campsites and yurts. Guests must agree to be responsible for any damage to the space or to complaints from other guests. Pets may not be left unattended in cars, cabins, or tied-up. They must be kept quiet and on-leash and scooped after at all times. Pets are not allowed in the Hostel, Cafe, Spa area, Store or the Otter Lodge Library. Pets MUST be authorized in advance by the Front Desk. Our recommendation is that you leave your pet at home but we will try to accommodate your needs.

The cabins/spaces that DO allow pets are: Agni, Padma, Eden, Chakra, Churi, Mala, Naga, Priya, Bhakti, Kutir, Salmonberry, Skyview, Garden Spot, Retreat House, all campsites, and all yurts.

Office Hours
The Doe Bay Office is open from 9am-5pm every day.

Check In/Out
Check in time is 3pm, check out time is 11am. Guests who do not check out of their spaces by 11am may be charged either a $75 late fee or for another night's stay. If you will be arriving after our office is closed, please let us know. We will leave a welcome envelope at the front office door for all guests who have not arrived by the close of office hours.

Quiet Hours
Please respect the other guests, our staff, and neighbors by maintaining quiet hours between 10pm and 8am.

Cabin Etiquette
There is ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING, CANDLES, OR INCENSE in any of our spaces. Please do not burn candles or incense. Smoking, candles, or incense can result in a fine of damage or a fee of $300, whichever is greater. If you have a kitchen in your cabin, wash, dry and put away all the dishes before you check out. Remove your shoes by the door when it is wet and muddy outside. Wipe your pet's feet upon entering your space. Linens and bath towels are provided in spaces with beds and bathrooms. Please bring your own towels for use at the Soaking Tubs or beaches. Our spaces do not have phones or TVs.

Camping
Our reserved campsites on the Point are walk-in sites, so you will need to pack in and pack out all your belongings and trash. Our drive-up sites are for car camping, tents and campers. There are no hook-ups for RVs. We do not allow campfires but do allow careful use of propane cook stoves. There is a guest kitchen available 24 hours/day. Not all sites are on level ground. Please stay on the paths.

Soaking Tubs and Sauna
This area is the only clothing optional portion of Doe Bay. No drugs, alcohol, smoking, pets or glass containers are allowed. When using the sauna please sit on a towel. You must shower each and every time before using the tubs or sauna.

Spa hours for use are from 9am to 10pm. The Spa is closed from 3-4pm everyday for maintenance and housekeeping. Minors are permitted only when accompanied with a parent or guardian and may use the spa between the hours of 11am and 6pm.

Soaking Tubs and Sauna - Day Use
Our clothing optional Soaking Tubs and Sauna are usually but not always available to people who are not overnight guests of Doe Bay Resort & Retreat. When available, the fee is $15 per person per half-day session. We limit the number of Day Use guests, so call to inquire about availability. Day Use is EITHER 9am - 3pm OR 4pm - 10pm.

Day Use guests must check in and pay at the office during office hours before you can use our facilities. You will be issued a parking permit and receipt as proof of payment. Remember, family hours are 11am to 6pm. These are the only times minors may be at the Spa.

Bathrooms and Showers
Many cabins have full bathrooms. For guests without in cabin facilities, shower and bathroom houses are available on both the lower and upper grounds. There is also a bathroom inside the Café. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, there are port-a-lets on the trail to the Point campsites.

Guest Kitchen
Our modest guest kitchen is available to all guests without kitchens in their spaces. Basic utensils and cookware are provided. Label any food you keep in the fridge with your name and departure date or housekeeping may throw it out. Please keep this space enjoyable for all our guests by cleaning everything you use before you leave, including the grill(s).

Fire Safety
We do not allow open flames of any kind on the property other than the community fire ring, the barbecue pit by the Guest Kitchen, and propane cook stoves. NO campfires, candles or incense are allowed at the cabins or campsites. There are fire extinguishers located on the outside of each cabin. In the summer, if there is no burn ban in effect on the island, a fire may be built in our fire pit (supply your own firewood), keeping in mind quiet hours, 10pm-8am.

Boat Anchorage
Our guests that choose to arrive to Doe Bay via their private boat may anchor at your own risk. Doe Bay does not have a mooring buoy or dock. *Otter Cove is NOT deep enough for boats and is very tidal dependent. DO NOT enter Otter Cove with your vessel. Please anchor at least 50 yards from our western most beach. When coming in on your dinghy, use that same beach to park (the one with a boat rack and Boat House). Use the left side (eastern side) of that beach when storing your dinghy so that the beach is still accessible for other boats. Specifically, our kayak tours use the boat racks on the western side of the Boat House and must be able to access the rack at all times.
